Text Layout Framework
The Text Layout Framework is an extensible library, built on the new text engine in Adobe® Flash® Player 10, which delivers advanced, easy-to-integrate typographic and text layout features for rich, sophisticated and innovative typography on the web. The framework is designed to be used with Adobe Flash CS4 Professional or Adobe Flex®, and is already included in the next version of Flex, code named Gumbo. Developers can use or extend existing components, or use the framework to create their own text components.

Latest Milestone: Text Layout Framework beta 1 (November, 2008)
This archive is for developers that are developing in pure ActionScript or want to create new text components for Flash CS4 Professional or Flex. It contains the SWCs that provide the functionality of the Text Layout Framework such as layout, selection, editing and markup. Beta 1 (build 207) was created on November 14, 2008.

Text Layout Framework Weekly Builds
These archives provide the latest builds of the Text Layout Framework. Weekly builds are provided for ActionScript and Flex developers who want to take advantage of the latest feature enhancements and bug fixes. As the framework is in active development, the Text Layout Framework API and functionality is rapidly changing. Weekly builds have not undergone rigorous testing and should be regarded as unstable. The documentation provided elsewhere on Adobe Labs may not accurately reflect the state of the Text Layout Framework in these builds. The builds are not guaranteed to work with any given build of Flex Gumbo. Each archive contains the latest API documentation, release notes, code samples, and SWCs that provide the functionality of the Text Layout Framework.
Text Layout Component for Adobe Flash CS4 Professional (November, 2008)
This archive contains the Text Layout Component which is a proof-of-concept component designed to be used with Flash CS4 Professional, but is not part of the Flash CS4 Professional release. This component is built using the Text Layout Framework. The MXP in this archive also provides a Text Layout panel UI which can be used to visually layout text and access advanced typographic features.
