Adobe would like to thank all of the entrants in the Adobe AIR Developer Derby.  Many of the entries that we received were impressive demonstrations of developer talent and the capabilities of Adobe AIR.  We were stunned with the quality of these applications and the effort that was put into them.

Grand Prize / Best of Show

Categories and Judging

Entries will be judged on innovation, visual design and appeal, usability, and application of Adobe AIR functionality in the following categories:

Best Business Application

This category is for an application with a business and / or enterprise focus which utilizes Adobe AIR functionality. Example applications might include (but are not limited to) data entry applications, data analysis tools and / or desktop visualization of online data.  There will be two winners in this category:

  • Best Adobe AIR application built with HTML / JavaScript
  • Best Adobe AIR application built with Flash / Flex

Best Community Application

This category is for an application with a community / social focus, that combines content from one or more sources. Example applications will utilize web APIs, complement existing web applications, and take advantage of Adobe AIR functionality. Example applications include (but are not limited to) social networks, MashUps and Chat applications.  There will be two winners in this category:

  • Best Adobe AIR application built with HTML / JavaScript
  • Best Adobe AIR application built with Flash / Flex

Wild Card

This category is for applications which can’t be defined by the other contest categories and utilize Adobe AIR functionality. This includes, but is not limited to, games and general utilities.

Grand Prize / Best of Show

The Best of Show prize will be awarded to the overall top Adobe AIR application, and the winner will be selected from one of the category winners.
