Spry framework for Ajax

tweetzi

tweetzi

tweetzi is a web application that allows users to search for and tease out useful information from Twitter. It makes extensive use of the Spry Framework to interact with the Twitter Search API and consume page data in RSS and JSON formats. A novel use is made of Spry's ability to refresh data by allowing users to 'play' or 'pause' the real-time stream of search results. This allows users to get a continuous flow of information without the need to refresh the page or repeat the search query and is useful for things like following breaking news, important keynotes and live blogging etc.

Hotels.nl

Hotels.nl

One of the largest dutch booking sites powered their search page with SpryData Sets. Using JSON, observers and filters components to give the user the ability to find the best hotel for their needs. This is also a great example to see Jquery (sliders) and the Adobe Spry Framework perfectly side to side.

ESE Direct

ESE Direct

An eCommerce product selector. Exhibits unobtrusive use of SpryHTMLDataSet (using div/ul/li markup), SpryPagedView, and multiple filters for datasets. The page degrades gracefully, uses unobtrusive techniques to enable HTMLDataSet and region support, and uses extensive filtering and paging. It’s a nice example for those who want to see how to make their pages degrade gracefully.

Spry Effects Demo

Spry Effects Demo

The Effects Demo showcases the new effects introduced in Spry Prerelease 1.3. It has single effects like Grow/Hide and Slide Up/Down. One of our innovations was the ability to toggle the effects with a single click. Effects can also be clustered together. With simple Spry markup, these effects can be added to most page elements.

Digital Art of Stephen Bliss

One of Spry’s early adopters, Stephen Bliss uses Spry to create a subtle and clean photo gallery. Using multiple data sets and effects, Stephen blends Spry into his page with smooth transitions and crisp CSS. Plus, his artwork is excellent as well.

Photo Gallery

Photo Gallery

A demo of the abilities of Spry to load multiple datasets. Album details for each country are stored in separate XML files. The select element items are stored in another XML file. When the select value changes, we load the photos from the new data set. This also gives a small preview of our effect behaviors, including an example of the master detail construct, apparent when the main image area reacts to clicks in the thumbnail area.

Product Table

Product Table

Demonstrating more of Spry’s enhancement features, this application generates a table of Adobe products from an XML file. Spry Hover is used to highlight the row onMouseOver and Spry Select is used to maintain the highlight on the last clicked row. Clicking the row also updates the contents of the accordion. Product details displayed in the accordion are kept as separate files per product.

RSS Reader

RSS Reader

An RSS reader that showcases the ability to use cross domain scripts with Spry to pull in data. A PHP script is used to pull in the list of feeds and pass them to Spry. Spry takes this list and displays the feed info on the left side. Clicking on the article Title on the top pulls in the content of the article via the PHP script.
