These release notes document known issues related to the prerelease versions of the Adobe® CinemaDNG Importer for Adobe After Effects® CS4 and Adobe Premiere® Pro CS4. This is the first prerelease of the CinemaDNG Importer and is labeled as version 0.9.5.
Overview
The CinemaDNG Importer plug-in adds support to After Effects CS4 and Premiere Pro CS4 for reading CinemaDNG video streams in the form of MXF files and DNG file sequences.
Installation instructions are detailed below.
System Requirements
The minimum system requirements for the CinemaDNG Importer are:
- After Effects CS4, Premiere Pro CS4, or both on Mac OS and Windows.
- Same hardware requirements as that of After Effects CS4 or Premiere Pro CS4.
- Camera Raw 5.3 or later (a standalone installer is also available)
Installation and Setup
Install the CinemaDNG Importer on Windows
- Download the CinemaDNG Importer ZIP file
- Unzip the package and navigate to the unzipped location.
- Copy the file CinemaDNG.prm to the following location:
- On a Windows 32-bit system:
<drive>:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\CS4\MediaCore - On a Windows 64-bit system:
<drive>:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\CS4\MediaCore
- On a Windows 32-bit system:
Install the CinemaDNG Importer on Mac OS
- Download the CinemaDNG Importer DMG file
- Double-click on the DMG item to mount the installer virtual disk.
- In that virtual disk, copy the file CinemaDNG.bundle to:
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/CS4/MediaCore
Once the plug-in is installed, the feature is available via the File > Import… menu in Premiere Pro CS4 and the File > Import > File… menu in After Effects CS4.
CinemaDNG files may have a .mxf or .cdng (wrapper file) or .dng (frames stored in folder structure) extension.
Uninstall the CinemaDNG Importer on Windows
Remove the file CinemaDNG.prm from the following location:
- On a Windows 32-bit system:
<drive>:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\CS4\MediaCore - On a Windows 64-bit system:
<drive>:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\CS4\MediaCore
Uninstall the CinemaDNG Importer on Mac OS
Remove the file CinemaDNG.bundle from:
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/CS4/MediaCore
