General

Is there a Flash Player 10 prerelease for other languages?
The Flash Player 10 prerelease is available in all supported languages; however, the prerelease installers are only in English and we can only accept feedback in English at this time.
I have questions or requests regarding upcoming Flash Player releases. How can I get answers, or where should I send requests?
We welcome you to send suggestions for the features you'd like to see in future versions of our products. Please submit your requests.
If my content does not function with the Flash Player 10 prerelease, what should I do? Does this mean it will not function with the final release of Flash Player 10?
If your content does not function as intended, please submit a bug via our feedback form. We will validate the issue and make every effort to fix bugs before we ship. Providing a publicly accessible URL demonstrating the incorrect behavior is the most essential attribute in ensuring that the issue will be addressed promptly.
How do I uninstall the Flash Player prerelease and reinstall a released version of Flash Player?
Instructions for uninstalling Flash Player can also be found in Tech Note #14157. To reinstall Flash Player, visit the Flash Player Download Center.
What are some other known issues?
Please review the Release Notes for more information.
Does Adobe Flex work with Flash Player 10?

Yes. Adobe Flex 3, which was launched earlier this year, is designed to work with Flash Player 9, update 3 (9.0.115.0) and higher. All Flex-created content will continue to function as expected with Flash Player 10. To build Flex content that takes advantage of the new features, developers will need the latest Flex SDK daily builds, which support export to SWF 10.

Where can I get the Flash Player detection script to ensure my content recognizes Flash Player 10?
SWF Object 2.0 will work with Flash Player 10. Adobe recommends developers verify that Flash Player detection scripts are in use with content targeted for Flash Player 10. It is common for many detection scripts to stop functioning in versions of Flash Player that are released after the script was initially developed.
Where can I find the documentation for the new APIs?
Documentation of the new APIs is available in the Action Script 3.0 language reference.
Is File Reference runtime access using the same API as in Adobe AIR?
No. The File Reference enhancements work the same as they have in previous versions of Flash Player where an ActionScript developer can invoke the file dialog box, but the end user must select the file to save or open. AIR, which works in a different security model, permits greater access to desktop files than Flash Player, using a different set of APIs that suit its capabilities.

64-bit Flash Player 10

Why aren’t the Windows and Mac 64-bit alpha versions available on Adobe Labs?
Release of this alpha version of 64-bit Flash Player on Linux is the first step in delivering upon Adobe’s commitment to make Flash Player native 64-bit across platforms. We chose Linux as our initial platform in response to numerous requests in our public Flash Player bug and issue management system and the fact that Linux distributions do not ship with a 32-bit browser or a comprehensive 32-bit emulation layer by default. Until this prerelease, use of 32-bit Flash Player on Linux has required the use of a plugin wrapper, which prevents full compatibility with 64-bit browsers. With this prelease, Flash Player 10 is now a full native participant on 64-bit Linux distributions. We are committed to bringing native 64-bit Flash Player to Windows and Mac in future prereleases.
Will prerelease versions of the Windows and Mac 64-bit players be available on Adobe Labs?
Yes, we remain committed to bringing native 64-bit Flash Player to Windows and Mac in future prereleases.
When will the 64-bit Flash Player for Linux distributions be final?
We expect to provide native support for 64-bit platforms in an upcoming major release of Flash Player. Windows, Macintosh and Linux players will ship at the same time.
When will 64-bit versions of Flash Player for Windows and Mac be available?
We expect to provide native support for 64-bit platforms in an upcoming major release of Flash Player. Windows, Macintosh and Linux players will ship at the same time.
Is there a debugger version of the 64-bit Flash Player available?
We currently have no plans to release a debugger version.
What Linux distributions and browsers have been tested with this prerelease?
We have tested this 64-bit Flash Player alpha release on Ubuntu 8 and OpenSUSE 11 distributions and against the Firefox 3.0 browser. Please submit any bugs you find on these or other Linux distributions and browsers supported by Flash Player to http://bugs.adobe.com/flashplayer/.
Will application performance improve with the 64-bit Flash Player?
A 64-bit Flash Player will not necessarily result in improved application performance. The major benefit is for Flash Player to be fully compatible with 64-bit Linux distributions so that it is both easier to install and works as expected without requiring emulation.
Does the Tamarin JIT compiler now produce 64-bit code?
Yes. The open source Tamarin Just-In-Time compiler can now produce 64-bit code.
Does this mean I no longer have to use nspluginwrapper for Flash Player?
That is correct. This alpha release of Flash Player 10 runs natively on 64-bit Linux distributions so there is no longer a need to use nspluginwrapper.
When will there be native 64-bit versions of Adobe AIR available?
AIR is a native application runtime and currently supports 64-bit platforms as a 32-bit process. AIR is not a browser plugin, so 64-bit support is not essential for it to function on 64-bit operating systems. We currently have no announced plans to release a 64-bit version of Adobe AIR; however, we are evaluating future 64-bit support as part of our ongoing commitment to the cross-platform compatibility of AIR.
