The RED® EPIC® Importer preview release updates the RED support in Adobe® After Effects® CS5.5, Adobe Premiere® Pro CS5.5 and Adobe Media Encoder CS5.5 to support the latest Color Science and Firmware for RED EPIC digital cinema cameras.

- The ability to rotate and flip footage based on the camera orientation flag in R3D metadata
- R3D Source Settings dialog now supports Echo port in Premiere Pro
- Increased size of RED R3D Source Settings dialog on larger monitors
- HDR Track selection and HDR Blend support
RED provides a state-of-the-art digital video camera for the high-end professional video market (the RED EPIC). In order to import and manipulate footage from the RED EPIC camera into Premiere Pro CS5.5, After Effects CS5.5 and Media Encoder CS5.5, Adobe has developed this special software plug-in. The RED EPIC Importer allows the user to see and hear content captured on a RED EPIC Camera (import and playback), as well as take advantage of the advanced color options available from RED, providing a seamless workflow within Adobe products.
RED EPIC Importer supports clips captured with the RED EPIC 5K-Mysterium sensor and a 27 layer ASIC which enables captures of up to 120 frames per second at 14MP. Visit RED.com for more technical specifications on RED EPIC.
Getting Started
Follow these steps to get started with RED EPIC Importer:
- If you have not already, download and install Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5, Adobe After Effects CS5.5 or Adobe Media Encoder CS5.5.
- Download the RED EPIC Importer archive for either Mac or Windows
- Decompress the RED EPIC Importer archive and follow the appropriate installation instructions.
- After installation is complete, launch Premiere Pro CS5.5, After Effects CS5.5 or Media Encoder CS 5.5 and begin importing RED media.
- Ask questions or share your feedback in the RED EPIC Importer forum
