connex—(Flash Player 9 Required)
connex is an interactive widget that can be placed on web pages. It allows businesses to respond to customers instantly, and can be used to direct the user to specific pages (or pieces of information) on the site. Most similar current solutions are like a chat window on your site. connex takes it to the next level. In addition to communicating with the user it can be used to update the web page without refreshing the page. It's AJAX on steroids! Instead of a client polling the server every so often (as in an AJAX site), connex maintains the connection with the server and information is pushed to the client. It also supports audio (and video in a future release). connex can be used to get user feedback in the form of questionnaires or polls. connex can be used on multiple pages on a site. It'll remember the user and the conversation history from page to page. The demo is setup with a bot responding to users. Some of the command that the connex-bot !
understands are:
echo [some text]
set name [user's name]
show dog
show cat
show home
show poll
show results
say [some text]
page [number]
show typing
There's additional information on each of the commands on the connex demo page (a pet store).

Using techniques largely pioneered by Laura Arguello and Nahuel Foronda of Blue Instant, Exam Professor was converted into a Rich Internet Application using technologies such as Cold Fusion, Flex, Flash, Action Script, CSS, XHTML, DHTML, and JS.
Users of Exam Professor will note several key differences from traditional HTML-based web applications - mainly the ability to add and edit data without a page refresh. Exam Professor is connected to the server using Flash Remoting, which greatly simplifies the transfer of data.
Web enthusiasts have coined the term Web 2.0 to describe a set of principles and practices enabling web applications to behave as rich as local PC-based software. Team Exam Professor refrains from using the term "Web 2.0" to label our web application, but our software does respond quickly, nearly real-time - allowing teachers to focus on their students rather than the technology.
