Talk:DNG Profiles:Editor
From Adobe Labs
Ok, documentation is nice, program is easy to use for the perceptual. But I want to create a color table that as closely as possible resembles the way my P&S cam produces jpeg images, since the usual way the dngs are read in red looks awful. for that I have a reference jpg and dng image that match and now I want to create a table that creates almost the same colors from the dng image that the jpeg has. now ok, its one thing that the editor doesnt do that automagically. but when editing the color tables I cannot even see the source and target colors! One really needs to be able to edit them in terms of absolute numbers, not just HSL sliders. Since then I could do: select some spot in the dng in DNG PE then in PS select the same spot of the jpeg and enter those RGB/HSL etc. values into DNG PE and be done.... but this way I have to do ugly trial and error with the sliders that almost never leads to useful results....
DNG Profile Editor: THANKS!
To the great people who made this: THANKS! The best software of 2008, bar none. It has been an invaluable tool in y work, and has saved my but numerous times photographing very difficult art work. I can not say THANK YOU enough. Keep up the great work! Brooks Walker
It's easy but....
I am impressed with how easy it is to create a profile using a ColorChecker. I created the profile and tried some product shots with very good results. The colour of the print from my Epson is very accurate compared to the original objects. I am using a custom profile for the paper I use in my Epson printer. It only took a few minutes from creating the profile to my first test print. The colour was accurate with the first print.
What I don't understand is why 6500K? Why not 5500K to match studio flashes?
Otherwise thanks for the great work!
The curves tool in dng profile editor & previews
First things first: Thanks adobe for the editor, really nice tool. Here are two things I would kill for seeing in the next version: 1. The curves tool needs the individual color channels r,g and b 2. A toggle recipe on/off switch would b real help Please do it so I can get rid of profile maker and c1pro.
Thanks
